Two Night Stand (2014)
The central theme of this podcast episode revolves around the film "Two Night Stand," which intricately examines the dynamics of modern relationships under the unconventional circumstances of a snowstorm that compels two individuals to extend their initial one-night encounter. My co-host and I delve into the film’s exploration of authentic communication, highlighting how the characters navigate the awkwardness and complexities inherent in human connections. We emphasize the significance of candid discussions regarding desires and expectations, which, if addressed, could potentially avert misunderstandings and relationship failures. The dialogue throughout the film resonates with our personal experiences, making it both relatable and humorous, despite its portrayal of uncomfortable truths. Ultimately, we advocate for the value of open communication in fostering deeper connections, underscoring that the awkward moments depicted serve as a reflection of genuine relational dynamics.

Speaker A:WG.
Speaker A:Our verdict at checkout.
Speaker A:10 Off all the things.
Speaker A:There's my pitch.
Speaker B:Love it.
Speaker A:Let's get into the movie.
Speaker A:We are in week three as I said and this week we are doing two night stand.
Speaker A: ,: Speaker A:It was written by Max or Mark Hammer.
Speaker A:It was directed by Max Nichols.
Speaker A:It stars Miles Teller.
Speaker A:Interesting.
Speaker A:At the time her name was Anna Lee Tipton.
Speaker A:Now she goes by Leo Tipton.
Speaker A:Tipton.
Speaker A:Jessica Soar, Kid Cudi.
Speaker A:That was weird.
Speaker A:Berto Cologne, Josh Salatin.
Speaker A:And I'm gonna stop.
Speaker A:Well we'll say Levin Ramen because she was actually in it.
Speaker A:And then I'm going to throw in Joey Lord Nams and See if you can tell me where she was without looking it up.
Speaker A:If you know Joey Lauren.
Speaker A:Lauren Adams, which I know you do.
Speaker A:You don't know Joey Lord is.
Speaker B:Oh, I don't.
Speaker A:And I got Chasing Amy.
Speaker B:Oh, okay.
Speaker A:That's.
Speaker B:That's.
Speaker A:Yeah.
Speaker A:If you can tell me where she was in this movie, I'll give you a firm pat on the ass the next time I see you.
Speaker A:But yeah.
Speaker A:So this movie is about a snowstorm that forces two people who made an online connection to unwillingly extend their one night stand as the blizzard goes through the night and into the next day.
Speaker A:Actually, that's a good little synopsis there.
Speaker A:This is my movie.
Speaker A:I guess it's my turn to kick this so off, huh?
Speaker A:Listen, this movie was an accident and what a fortuitous, beautiful accident it was.
Speaker A:And I tried to get this on the last time we did these, the gems, because I think we did this on another five.
Speaker A:Five week month, I believe, previously.
Speaker A:So I actually had three picks to go, but we had three people vote at.
Speaker A:To vote on at this time.
Speaker A:So I didn't get this one.
Speaker A:But it worked out, I think because this sounds like should be some great stories time here.
Speaker A:But this was a movie that I remember.
Speaker A:Like we were sitting hanging out and Casey just was picking movies and she's like, we're gonna watch this movie.
Speaker A:Because she.
Speaker A:We.
Speaker A:We had recently.
Speaker A:I remember the time frame because we had gotten into speaking of Steve Carell when we talked last week about Steve Carell.
Speaker A:But now I can't think of the damn movie that he was in.
Speaker A:But it's the one where he's the dad and the.
Speaker A:The divorce and.
Speaker B:Oh yeah, yeah, we've done it on the podcast.
Speaker A:I think we had.
Speaker B:It's.
Speaker B:Is it the one with the Ryan Gosling in it?
Speaker A:Yes.
Speaker A:Why can't I think of the name of this movie?
Speaker B:Because it's a weird name.
Speaker B:That's.
Speaker B:I know.
Speaker B:Love.
Speaker B:No.
Speaker A:Yeah, it is crazy stupid love.
Speaker B:Okay.
Speaker A:Which I think is hilarious movie.
Speaker A:I love it.
Speaker A:But Annalee Tipton or Leo Tipton.
Speaker A:Tipton is in that movie as well.
Speaker A:And so Casey, we watched that one.
Speaker A:We had a great time watching it.
Speaker A:It's a regular on the TV in our house.
Speaker A:So she saw her and she.
Speaker A:We both like Miles Teller.
Speaker A:So she.
Speaker A:Let's just watch it.
Speaker A:And I was like, this is going to be terrible.
Speaker A:And then I laughed my ass off for an hour and a half and I was like, this is so well written.
Speaker A:Anyway.
Speaker A:So I like, it was an accidental movie that I was not looking forward to.
Speaker A:But it has quickly turned into, I think one of my, if not my.
Speaker A:I could argue that this is my favorite romcom of all time and it was an accidental watch.
Speaker A:And I think for me, the reason I love it so I say all of that to say the reason that I love it is because of how well written and then how well portrayed the writing is on this in this movie.
Speaker A:I think it's so real that it makes everyone uncomfortable that every.
Speaker A:That it's ever watched it to a certain degree because there is actual conversations that we should be having as human beings with each other that we don't.
Speaker A:But I, and most love stories and rom coms are very unbelievable to me when it comes to the actual romance of it all.
Speaker A:Because anyone that's had a long, a real long term relationship knows that the actual things that help your move relationship move forward are the awkward, weird conversations and discussions, not the cutesy that we see in most romantic films.
Speaker A:And so I love this movie because it feels while still a movie and still unrealistic and there's so many things that you could argue about the love story.
Speaker A:It feels way more real to me having been in a 23 year relationship now that than any other that you're like, nope, that relationship's doomed in six months if it goes this way.
Speaker A:Right.
Speaker A:So.
Speaker A:And it's funny as to me, like I laugh the whole movie so I just enjoy it.
Speaker A:I think it's cute, I think it's fun.
Speaker A:I think it's super well acted and extremely well written.
Speaker A:And for these, these two characters to carry a movie an hour and a half, almost an entire hour and a half movie by themselves.
Speaker A:I like that.
Speaker A:That means to me it's well written and well played.
Speaker A:So there it is.
Speaker A:What did you think?
Speaker A:Had you seen this before?
Speaker A:I don't think you had.
Speaker B:Right.
Speaker B:I hadn't seen this before and I messaged you because the more that I watched, the more I was like, oh my gosh, this is hitting closer and closer to home.
Speaker B:I've experienced.
Speaker B:So everybody knows me.
Speaker B:Turn it off right now.
Speaker B:Don't, don't worry.
Speaker B:We're going to tell some stories.
Speaker A:I love it.
Speaker B:But like it started when you first hear, you know, Miles Teller's character's name.
Speaker B:It's my name.
Speaker B:I don't get a lot of movies that have my name in it.
Speaker B:Yes, the actor.
Speaker B:And so I was like, okay, that's kind of cool.
Speaker B:And then it just kept going and there was more.
Speaker B:I was like, okay, that's a little weird.
Speaker B:That's a little weird as well.
Speaker B:So it's not a, it's not a one to one, but I've had a one night stand turn into a two night stand.
Speaker A:Nice.
Speaker B:And yeah.
Speaker B:And so that's, that's the big one.
Speaker B:And then you're going through.
Speaker B:But it does a really good job with all the, like you said, it's real written.
Speaker B:But the corny, awkward, like start of a relationship thing where you fall back to the basics.
Speaker B:Right.
Speaker B:Blanket for it.
Speaker B:So old classic.
Speaker B:Or the, you know, figuring different things out about someone else while you're having those conversations.
Speaker B:I was like, had those conversations before too.
Speaker A:What the.
Speaker B:And so there's just so much this that you said is relatable.
Speaker B:And I love the way this opens up.
Speaker A:Oh.
Speaker B:With her trying to sneak out and getting there, leaving the note.
Speaker B:And it's like typical rom com.
Speaker B:And then open the door and just the alarm goes off.
Speaker B:Oh.
Speaker A:She crawls back in with that.
Speaker B:Instead of like situations.
Speaker B:It never happened.
Speaker B:And then like good east, Miles Teller's out until like it really starts blaring.
Speaker B:Then he gets up, he's got a baseball bat.
Speaker A:Yeah.
Speaker A:It's crazy.
Speaker B:I keep a baseball bat.
Speaker B:She's like, go get the intruder.
Speaker B:Go get the intro.
Speaker B:Yeah, yeah.
Speaker A:So good.
Speaker B:And so that, that happens all like what, the first three minutes.
Speaker A:Yeah.
Speaker B:Of this movie where you have this kind of going through.
Speaker B:And so from there it's just like, okay, I know what I'm getting into.
Speaker B:And then it just gets better and better and better as you have these really relatable moments.
Speaker B:And Miles Teller just.
Speaker A:Oh my God.
Speaker B:Was having so much fun in this movie.
Speaker A:Yeah.
Speaker B:Like the, the thing that got me when I texted you was when he's coming down the stairs to do laundry and he's like, oh, yeah, hold on, mom.
Speaker B:Or like, talk to you later.
Speaker B:Like again, done that.
Speaker B:But not, you know, I know his mom's not in the other line.
Speaker A:Sure.
Speaker B:You're not doing that.
Speaker B:Right.
Speaker B:But you see an opportunity, you take an opportunity.
Speaker A:Oh yeah.
Speaker B:And so that's what I text you.
Speaker B:I was like, this feels like a documentary in my life.
Speaker B:This is starting to feel like so good, dude.
Speaker B:Yeah.
Speaker B:So we'll just get into it.
Speaker B:I guess so.
Speaker B:Yeah.
Speaker B:So I had a one night stand turned a two night stand.
Speaker B:Not because of snow or weather, but because for the last.
Speaker B:At this point, it's been 14 years.
Speaker B:I've never paid for a flight because I fly standby.
Speaker A:Yeah.
Speaker B:And so if the flights aren't good, I'm not Gonna take a flight home.
Speaker B:So that's how it turned into two nightstanders.
Speaker B:The flights weren't good coming back to Arizona, so I was like, yeah, cool.
Speaker B:Do one night stand her and do an ice stand.
Speaker B:Not because of snow or ice, but because of air traffic control.
Speaker A:That's hilarious.
Speaker A:I didn't know you'd never paid for a flight before.
Speaker B:So, like, if you fly for work.
Speaker A:Sure.
Speaker B:Reimbursement or things like that.
Speaker B:But for.
Speaker B:Because my mom worked for the airlines when I turned about 20.
Speaker B:Twenty or so, I think is when she started working.
Speaker B:And then my wife works for American Airlines now.
Speaker B:So it's just.
Speaker B:You don't know if you're gonna get on the plane.
Speaker B:Right.
Speaker B:On special occasions.
Speaker B:But it's.
Speaker B:I like, I don't pay for flights.
Speaker B:Sure.
Speaker B:The flight's not there.
Speaker B:I just don't go.
Speaker A:Yeah, that's fair.
Speaker A:Hey.
Speaker B:Or I will bounce around airports to get to where I need to go.
Speaker B:And so.
Speaker B:So, yeah, that's.
Speaker B:That's how it turned into a multiple night stand is because it was like, well, I'm not flying.
Speaker A:I'm still here, so.
Speaker B:So you want to go get breakfast or something?
Speaker A:That's hilarious.
Speaker A:I love that.
Speaker A:That's perfect for this.
Speaker A:Yeah.
Speaker B:And.
Speaker B:And then we know.
Speaker B:We keep going.
Speaker B:We keep going.
Speaker B:And the.
Speaker B:The blanket for, like I said, is a staple.
Speaker B:And even though there's been no climbing out on to, you know, apartment buildings in the snow, because I don't do well in snow, There has been the whole climb a tree in the snow to get into a window because no drifts pile up that you can climb.
Speaker A:Yes, sir.
Speaker B:First.
Speaker B:Yes.
Speaker B:I was going.
Speaker B:I was going through.
Speaker B:Watch this movie.
Speaker B:And I was like, it's.
Speaker B:It's close, right?
Speaker B:It's close enough that I could be like, hey, that.
Speaker A:That.
Speaker B:That kind of happened to me.
Speaker B:But it's also the.
Speaker B:Just the relatability of the entire movie.
Speaker A:Yeah, they're.
Speaker B:I'm trying to think the.
Speaker B:There's not really much that I was like, ah.
Speaker B:I mean, the kind of the.
Speaker B:The ending where we get the police involved and everything, that was a little bit where I was like.
Speaker B:But at the same time, I can also see how that happens.
Speaker B:Sure.
Speaker B:Or how that's like as soon as, you know, profiles, the activate everything, I was like, I know exactly where this is going.
Speaker B:That's why they broke the window.
Speaker A:Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
Speaker A:I'm with you.
Speaker A:Like, I think that to me, is the only part where I'm like, okay.
Speaker A:But at the same Time they, they get back on track so quick.
Speaker A:Right.
Speaker A:Like, because you have to bring them back together.
Speaker A:And they, the way it ends is hilarious.
Speaker A:Like the fact that she, like, I love that he.
Speaker A:Her response of as soon as I laugh, like, he's like, I stepped in it on that.
Speaker B:Right.
Speaker A:And then she turned it on him.
Speaker B:Yeah.
Speaker A:The instant I laugh, I'll call you.
Speaker A:And she thinks she'll never laugh about it.
Speaker A:She doesn't even get out of the goddamn police station before she's chuckling about it.
Speaker A:But that, and I think to me, the fact that we get to that point, yes, I could have done without the police.
Speaker A:I think they could have done the same gag in a different way and it would have made a little more sense because I think the police thing, sending it to jail, like, that's a hard one to get over.
Speaker B:Yeah.
Speaker A:No matter how good your two night stand was and how interested you are.
Speaker A:So I think you could have done a little differently there.
Speaker A:But I also think that they made it work with what they did prior to that.
Speaker A:Right.
Speaker A:Like the whole two night stand.
Speaker A:Like I said, I go back to these conversations because what gets me is the whole the how they get past the awkwardness because they have to.
Speaker A:They're stuck in this apartment together and there's this weird what do we talk about time where they're watching the news and shit's all weird and they're.
Speaker A:He's like it up.
Speaker B:Yeah.
Speaker A:He's got the Rubik's Cube and he's sticking around with it.
Speaker B:What do you think I do when I watch movies?
Speaker B:JJ he doesn't know what the to say.
Speaker A:So he's just.
Speaker A:And then, and then he's like, it.
Speaker A:I'm gonna do the one thing that I know will relax everybody.
Speaker A:And he gets high and then these conversations kick off and I'm like, this is amazing.
Speaker A:And so, but the dialogue to me is so good.
Speaker A:Like you get through because.
Speaker A:And again, if anyone that's been in a long term relationship and I'm not talking, listen, 23 years is a long time.
Speaker A:I'm talking a couple years.
Speaker A:Like, if you've been with someone consistently for more than a year, you've probably had similar conversations to these.
Speaker B:Right.
Speaker A:You may not have had the let's give each other full on critiques because we're not going to see each other again.
Speaker A:That's brutal.
Speaker A:But you've had, hopefully, I hope you've had these conversations of what works, what doesn't work, what do you like, what don't you like?
Speaker A:What should I do?
Speaker A:What shouldn't I do?
Speaker A:Because if you haven't, you should.
Speaker A:Because if you should, then everything gets better.
Speaker A:Like it just.
Speaker A:And you see that in this movie and it, it's played out so well.
Speaker A:But like, I love the getting to know each other conversations because let's be honest, by the time they're into the let's get to know each other, they can't be awkward and uncomfortable about talking about your career and your.
Speaker A:Because you've talked about the most awkward on the planet.
Speaker A:Why didn't you make me orgasm?
Speaker A:Or what wasn't good about your sex?
Speaker A:Or how did you think you were better than you actually were?
Speaker A:Like, it can't get any more uncomfortable than that really?
Speaker A:In most cases, no, I think in every case, yeah.
Speaker A:I mean it's, it's hard to say what would be worse, right?
Speaker A:Like, it's just like if in the fact that you can get to that point and that's what leads to one, your next session of having intimate relations, right?
Speaker A:You're having sex and it works really well because you've had this conversation and then from there as again someone that's been in a long term relationship.
Speaker A:Like I remember those moments when you're like, oh, this is trouble because now communication's so good.
Speaker A:Relations are very good.
Speaker A:What do I do if this doesn't work out, right?
Speaker A:Like how do I rebuild this again?
Speaker A:Because so the fact that it happens in two days, I love that, that whole juxtaposition of they shouldn't want to be together after this.
Speaker A:But at the same time that was really fun.
Speaker A:There was a lot of really good things that happened in this two night stand, if you will, in that con.
Speaker A:Like really crunch timeline of that usually takes weeks to years.
Speaker A:So I just love that whole situation.
Speaker A:And there's a lot of quotes I want to get into later.
Speaker A:But like, and then you have the awkward situations too, like clogging the toilet with the piece of paper because they hit too close to home and then having to break.
Speaker A:It's just, there's so much good in this movie that you're like, what?
Speaker A:But then when you look at the hole, it makes sense.
Speaker B:It also does a good job of like stripping away that initial relationship awkwardness that you get because like, and they do it in a natural way, right?
Speaker B:Because if you're just starting out, meeting someone, doing this hookup kind of thing, like it's very, you're, you're stepping on eggshells a little bit, you're trying to figure it out you're not, you're really your true self, you're on your best behavior type of a thing.
Speaker B:And so it takes time to like strip away then.
Speaker B:So that's why it's like months gone, dates, you know, different scenery, different areas so that you can see more and more of who this person really is.
Speaker B:But the best way to ship it away is just like, hey, you guys are stuck in the hotel or stuck in an apartment for two days, figure it out, right?
Speaker B:No food, no.
Speaker B:No way to get out and escape type of a thing.
Speaker B:Like, so that, that whole like initial phase is just stripped away to, okay, we're going to skip that and we're going to go straight into, you know, you know, we're going to skip the what's your favorite color phase and we're going to go straight into the actual communication going back and forth where let's, let's figure this out type of a thing.
Speaker B:And so they do it in a, what I think is a pretty natural way of just like, hey, guess what?
Speaker B:You got no choice.
Speaker A:Yeah.
Speaker A:Like, yeah, you either sit in silence for two days or you actually figure this shit out.
Speaker B:Right.
Speaker A:And I love too that, like when you look at the, the two failed relationships that they're both previously in or currently in in Alex situation, they probably could have been saved if they had had conversations similar to the one that these two had with each other.
Speaker A:Right?
Speaker A:Like, right.
Speaker A:You think about the relationship when she's describing her boyfriend cheating on her and the fact that he didn't ever tell her.
Speaker A:Like, I don't.
Speaker A:You're too clingy.
Speaker A:You're all over the place.
Speaker A:Like you, you, your relationship, your life is based on our relationship.
Speaker A:And that's too much pressure for me.
Speaker A:Like, I need you to figure out who you are and what you want to be.
Speaker A:Like, that's a big conversation that needs to happen in a relationship.
Speaker A:And so like those definition of roles and like, who, why are we in this and why are we doing what we do?
Speaker A:And how does that relate to our relationship together?
Speaker A:Right?
Speaker A:If they had had those conversations, maybe that relationship ends differently.
Speaker A:Same thing with Alec and, and Daisy.
Speaker A:He finds this note, ask her about it, dude.
Speaker A:Like, why do we not talk about it?
Speaker A:Instead you come up with this really shitty scheme of, I'm gonna hold on to this, and then as soon as she's gone, I'm gonna have a one night stand and use it to break.
Speaker A:Use that to end this relationship.
Speaker A:Just have a conversation.
Speaker A:And, and that's the other piece that I love.
Speaker A:About this movie is that, like, it really belabors, if you will, for the lack of a better term, the fact that a lot of relationships end up in the toilet because of a lack of good, solid, honest communication.
Speaker A:And I love the way that they broach this topic when they're having the.
Speaker A:The fe.
Speaker A:It's the funniest way to do it.
Speaker B:Right.
Speaker A:Because you're talking about sex and it's all uncomfortable and you got to tell what you like and you don't like.
Speaker A:But there's nothing in that conversation.
Speaker A:And I. Casey and I had a very long after we watched this movie, I was like, I have to ask the.
Speaker A:That she critiques him on.
Speaker A:Is that for real?
Speaker A:Like, because she and I have had those conversations.
Speaker A:Nothing about those things.
Speaker A:But like, she goes, yeah, in that situation, 100 real.
Speaker A:And I was like, yeah, the he said's true too.
Speaker A:Like, And I was like, that's how I knew it was good writing because I was like, I could relate to what he was saying and then she could relate to what she was saying.
Speaker A:And I was curious, is that real?
Speaker A:And she was like, is that real?
Speaker A:And I was like, that's good writing.
Speaker A:But that's the kind of conversations that we as human beings need to be having is the uncomfortable.
Speaker A:And not just in relationships in general.
Speaker A:Right.
Speaker A:The uncomfortable ones lead to better understanding of each other, which lead to better relationships, whether it's friendships, relationships, one.
Speaker A:I don't give a.
Speaker A:That's what leads to stronger human interaction.
Speaker A:And we avoid it like the plague, unfortunately, in most humans.
Speaker B:Yeah.
Speaker B:Because nobody likes to be uncomfortable.
Speaker A:Yeah.
Speaker B:Like, that's what it is.
Speaker B:You got to get comfortable being uncomfortable.
Speaker A:Yeah.
Speaker B:That's the tricky part.
Speaker B:And so funny you talk about like the.
Speaker B:The relationship portion of this because I was tackling again because a little spoiler.
Speaker B:When I met my now wife, she was in a relationship, I was the booty call.
Speaker B:And so while this is all happening down, I was just cracking up because it was very similar.
Speaker B:Like there was stuff happen happening in her relationship that maybe could have been worked out if there was open and honest communication back and forth.
Speaker B:Personally, I'm very glad there wasn't because it allowed me to come on in.
Speaker B:And then that's something that even though it's like, it's hard because we communicate very differently.
Speaker B:I'm more of a, you know, like, just tell me what you want, how it is.
Speaker B:Boom.
Speaker B:Like, yeah.
Speaker B:And so it.
Speaker B:But it's even comes down to like, when we have disagreements.
Speaker B:Right.
Speaker B:Because we're both very Stubborn people.
Speaker B:I don't know if you know this, jj.
Speaker B:I'm extremely stubborn.
Speaker B:No.
Speaker B:Yeah.
Speaker B:All right.
Speaker B:And so it's one of those things where, like, on occasion, right, you got a vent, you got to have a little bit of a fight.
Speaker B:But mine.
Speaker B:My way of fighting is like, hey, we're gonna duke it out for 10 minutes, and then we're cool again.
Speaker B:Yep.
Speaker B:Like that.
Speaker B:That's exactly what it is.
Speaker B:Her way of fighting is if it doesn't get resolved in a way that's almost appeal appeals to her, like, it's still happening.
Speaker A:Yeah.
Speaker B:And so she'll be continuing a fight two hours in, and at that point, I'm like, we already fought about it.
Speaker B:Like, it's done.
Speaker B:Like, you know, and so, yeah, you'll get the conversation, especially early in our relationship where it's like, maybe we should break up.
Speaker B:Maybe we should do this.
Speaker B:Maybe, you know, it's like, timeout.
Speaker B:Like, this is a fight, right?
Speaker A:Yeah.
Speaker B:It's not the end of the world.
Speaker A:We're.
Speaker B:We're having a fight.
Speaker B:Once we're done with the fight, let's go get tacos.
Speaker B:Right?
Speaker B:Like this.
Speaker A:Yeah.
Speaker B:Like, this isn't a big relationship ending fight.
Speaker B:First of all, I was like, we're gonna work through this.
Speaker B:But so that.
Speaker B:That was one uncomfortable conversation, was the fact that it's like, hey, the way I fight is I'm going to get mad, I'm going to yell, I'm going to holler, and you cannot match me for volume.
Speaker B:Like, it's not going to work.
Speaker B:If you want to.
Speaker B:If you want to play that game, we'll play that game.
Speaker B:And I beat your ass every single time.
Speaker B:But after 10 minutes, I'm done.
Speaker B:Yeah.
Speaker A:And it's.
Speaker B:And it is out of sight, out of mind.
Speaker B:It doesn't matter what happened.
Speaker B:It's completely forgiven.
Speaker B:Type them not going to bring it up on you.
Speaker B:It's.
Speaker B:It's.
Speaker B:We fought about it mostly just to say a piece of.
Speaker B:Of like, hey, this is.
Speaker B:This happened.
Speaker B:Didn't like it, but now what do you want from, you know, Taco Bell?
Speaker A:Yeah.
Speaker B:Like, it's one of those things.
Speaker B:And so it was.
Speaker B:It's still something I kind of struggle with a little bit, is making sure that at the end of my 10 minutes, I've gotten the resolution that she needs.
Speaker B:Otherwise, she's gonna keep bringing it up, and I hate it because I've already moved on.
Speaker A:Yeah.
Speaker A:Yeah, exactly.
Speaker B:I'm done.
Speaker B:I'm good.
Speaker B:We had our fight.
Speaker B:We had our disagreement, but, you know, let's continue with our relationship.
Speaker B:Like, this isn't where it ends, but if she doesn't get that resolution, then it's like that's her line in the sand.
Speaker A:Yeah.
Speaker B:Where it's like, hey, no, you know, we're having a fight.
Speaker B:There has to be an ending to the fight.
Speaker B:And I'm like, yeah, well the timer expired.
Speaker B:Like that's the ending of the fight.
Speaker B:Like, yeah.
Speaker B:And so it's, it's good to see that kind of like just back and forth bearing your, you know, innermost thoughts in a way being portrayed on screen because it's, it's something that does need to happen, but nobody wants to do it because of the fact that it is an uncomfortable thing to do.
Speaker A:Yeah.
Speaker A:It's funny how it works out in this too because like you have to set up the situation to where they're accidentally in a safe space.
Speaker A:Right.
Speaker A:Like, because they, in their minds, once the snowstorm, that one, they were never supposed to be in the situation that they're in, but the snowstorm forced it.
Speaker A:Once the snowstorm's up, it's done.
Speaker A:He even says it, we're never going to see each other again.
Speaker A:Let's have it out.
Speaker A:Let's have these conversations.
Speaker A:You tell me, give me critiques.
Speaker A:This is a great science experiment and I love where that goes.
Speaker A:But like for example, Casey and I, when we first met, we were friends long before we even thought about anything beyond friendship.
Speaker A:So we would have conversations about other people that we were dating and things like that.
Speaker A:So these conversations around like what we liked and what was important, not just sexually but like in general were happening as friends about other people that we could then call back.
Speaker A:So it works out in a lot of times that in good situations where you're in a place where you can have a conversation because it feels safer than if you weren't or if you were rather in a full on relationship.
Speaker A:But at the same time, like again, I encourage people like have them no matter because trust me, fighting about it later will become much more uncomfortable than if you were just feeling a little awkward having a weird conversation now.
Speaker A:It's just, it can only help your relationship grow as long as you're not like secretly a serial person.
Speaker A:You know what I mean?
Speaker B:Like that would put a damper on the relationship.
Speaker A:My might get weird, but if it's because you like weird kinky, they'll figure it out.
Speaker B:Yeah.
Speaker B:And it's more important to have that conversation out rather than keep it all locked up deep inside where it's, it's Gonna have a problem later.
Speaker A:Yeah.
Speaker A:Eventually it will become a relationship breaker as opposed to being a little uncomfortable in the moment.
Speaker A:Right.
Speaker A:But that's.
Speaker A:Yeah, that's.
Speaker A:I love.
Speaker A:I love the realistic nature of this movie, no matter how unrealistic it is.
Speaker A:Because it is.
Speaker A:I mean, let's be honest.
Speaker A:Like, this is like a one in a billion kind of situation that could happen, but it probably won't.
Speaker A:But at the same time, like, the conversations and the feelings and the place that they're in are so realistic that it makes this movie very funny and very fun to watch, at least for me.
Speaker A:Like, I just enjoy the.
Speaker A:Out of this awkward.
Speaker A:And you're right.
Speaker A:Miles Teller owns this movie.
Speaker A:Like, and don't get me wrong, Tipton, she does great.
Speaker A:She's very good at being awkward, which adds.
Speaker A:Which why.
Speaker A:Is why she was a great choice for this movie.
Speaker A:She's not a great actress in a lot of the other things that she does, but when it comes to being uncomfortable and awkward, she's very good.
Speaker A:So she was a very good choice.
Speaker A:And she's a beautiful woman.
Speaker A:And which also makes it great because, to be honest, like, this isn't ripped Miles Teller.
Speaker A:Like, this is early acting Miles Teller, when he's still got a little bit of I'm just 22, 23 pudge.
Speaker A:And like, you're like, wait a minute, she was in America's Next Top Model.
Speaker A:And he looks like he had a little too many noodles for a while.
Speaker A:Right.
Speaker A:Which I love because it's okay.
Speaker A:That's also realistic in a lot of ways.
Speaker A:And so these two did very good at that dynamic of awkward.
Speaker A:And the way that they jab at each other.
Speaker A:Like, couldn't just in the sink.
Speaker A:Huh.
Speaker A:Like the.
Speaker A:Like the whole run it.
Speaker A:Like you said, the beginning of it running back, laying down.
Speaker A:And then he actually, like, believes that she was in her coat.
Speaker A:Like, I just got cold.
Speaker B:Oh, okay.
Speaker A:Men are stupid.
Speaker A:As in that situation in most situations, but especially there's so.
Speaker A:He's just like, whatever.
Speaker A:And then lays down and instantly goes back to sleep.
Speaker A:I was like, God, that's too real.
Speaker A:Like, that's so great.
Speaker A:And then.
Speaker B:Yeah, go ahead.
Speaker A:No, go ahead.
Speaker A:I was just say.
Speaker A:It's just.
Speaker A:It's so realistic.
Speaker A:I love it.
Speaker B:I was gonna say the one that got me was the fitted sheet.
Speaker B:Oh.
Speaker B:Where they're going back for, like, their, you know, after critiques.
Speaker B:And it's like, you know, sheet.
Speaker B:No sheet on the beds.
Speaker B:Kind of giving crack house vibes and just.
Speaker B:Oh, it's laundry day.
Speaker B:So Then you have this putting the fitted sheet on, and Miles Teller goes, it's inside out, but it's whatever.
Speaker B:Yeah.
Speaker B:Because it's great.
Speaker B:Because that is not what you'd expect or what you'd ever see in any kind of rom com.
Speaker B:Is that line.
Speaker B:But that's the kind of stupid people say when you've been together for a long time.
Speaker A:Oh, yeah.
Speaker A:Is.
Speaker B:It's a.
Speaker B:It's, you know, it's.
Speaker B:It's inside out.
Speaker B:Like, does it matter?
Speaker A:Yeah, there's a sheet on the bed.
Speaker B:But the fact that you throw that in is just something else that makes it so relatable.
Speaker B:Oh, yeah, I know that that's happened before.
Speaker B:I've had that conversation where it's like, the sheets on the bed.
Speaker B:Yeah.
Speaker B:Now take your clothes off.
Speaker A:100.
Speaker A:100.
Speaker B:I don't want to have sex anymore.
Speaker B:Because you're bitching about the sheet.
Speaker A:Because you can see the.
Speaker B:The.
Speaker A:The stitch part on the corner off.
Speaker A:Like, get out of here with that.
Speaker A:No, I'm with you.
Speaker A:And I love, too, like, the.
Speaker A:The look on his face when she takes his feedback and gets undressed all slow and like that.
Speaker A:To me, like, one of the hottest things in this whole movie.
Speaker A:And it's not just because of her.
Speaker A:Like, it's just the way she did it.
Speaker A:I was like, see, this is what he's talking about.
Speaker A:It's real.
Speaker A:Don't rush that.
Speaker A:We can if you want us to, but you need to take your time, like.
Speaker A:Because that gets you going, at least for Guy.
Speaker A:And again, that's a very broad generalization.
Speaker A:But I was like, every time I watch this movie, I laugh at that because I'm like, he's not wrong.
Speaker A:And then his face.
Speaker A:He just plays that, like.
Speaker A:And it's just.
Speaker A:It's so good.
Speaker A:And then I think one of the greatest lines in all of cinema history is when he's going down on her and he's like, japanese Alphabet.
Speaker A:Thank God for Rosetta Stone.
Speaker A:Rosetta Stone in the middle of it.
Speaker A:Because that shit's real.
Speaker A:I like.
Speaker A:And I'm sorry if people.
Speaker A:If you're not laughing during sex, sometimes you're doing it wrong, Right?
Speaker A:Like, this shit's weird.
Speaker A:There's gonna be moments when you're gonna have.
Speaker A:Because everybody's all about.
Speaker A:In movies, in Hollywood and.
Speaker A:Sorry.
Speaker A:And books, and they're all.
Speaker A:I'm getting all passionate because this movie brings the.
Speaker A:Out of me because I think people are so ridiculous sometimes.
Speaker A:In general, it's all about the passionate.
Speaker A:Hot.
Speaker A:That's once every 50 times at best.
Speaker A:Right?
Speaker A:Most of the time you're like, you wanna.
Speaker B:Yeah.
Speaker A:And then it's like weird.
Speaker A:Like if you really think about it outside in.
Speaker A:It's weird.
Speaker A:It's awkward.
Speaker A:There's.
Speaker A:It's stuff everywhere.
Speaker A:Like it's just not.
Speaker A:It's kind of gross.
Speaker A:It's kind of weird, it's kind of awkward.
Speaker A:But it feels real good and it's really intimate and it brings you closer no matter how you can say that regardless of the situation.
Speaker A:So when you watch a movie like this and there's like this funny in the middle of it, like that I'm like, that's real that.
Speaker A:Because I. I've never said that.
Speaker A:I'm not that smart and clever.
Speaker A:But I've said funny.
Speaker A:And we start laughing.
Speaker A:And that to me is some of the best sex I've ever had.
Speaker A:Is when I'm laughing and giggling in the middle of it.
Speaker A:Because it's real.
Speaker A:We don't not.
Speaker A:You can't have this passionate break the goddamn bed sex every time you have sex.
Speaker A:It's unrealistic.
Speaker A:It's not how that works.
Speaker A:And anybody that's been in a long term relationship.
Speaker A:Again, I keep saying that, but it.
Speaker A:You know that because you've had the awkward, weird giggle fest in the middle of sex and then at the same time you get done, you're like.
Speaker A:That was actually pretty good.
Speaker B:No, there's been there.
Speaker B:The funny part too, for me anyway, is the ones that stay long term.
Speaker B:Like, she gives me all the time, but there is one time where I sneezed.
Speaker A:Oh God.
Speaker B:Just like right in.
Speaker A:Amazing.
Speaker A:Oh, it's awesome.
Speaker B:And so she'll bring that up every, you know, so often.
Speaker A:Yeah.
Speaker B:And it's.
Speaker B:And she, she waits until like moments where it's gonna be like really right now?
Speaker B:Type of a thing.
Speaker B:But there's been a couple because at one point we.
Speaker B:Sheets right off the bed.
Speaker A:Oh yeah, yeah, yeah.
Speaker A:100.
Speaker A:Whoever said satin's the right choice was a idiot.
Speaker A:So impractical.
Speaker B:But it's.
Speaker B:It's like.
Speaker B:It's those real kind of mistakes in a way.
Speaker B:Yeah.
Speaker B:Kind of that.
Speaker B:The clunky awkward stuff that just like.
Speaker B:Okay, yeah.
Speaker B:No, you.
Speaker B:You're actually two people having a, you know, a moment here rather than just the.
Speaker B:The Hollywood ized version of sex.
Speaker A:Yeah, no, you have to have.
Speaker A:So everybody's got them.
Speaker A:Like, I. Dude, it could be.
Speaker A:I could be in the middle of the frozen ass tundra and I'm gonna sweat.
Speaker A:Okay.
Speaker B:Yeah.
Speaker B:Yeah.
Speaker A:That's weird.
Speaker A:It's awkward.
Speaker A:You sneeze, I drip.
Speaker A:So, like, there's towels, dude.
Speaker A:Like, yeah, there has to be one time.
Speaker A:Skitzy, she doesn't listen to this podcast.
Speaker A:She murdered me.
Speaker A:But like, there was one time as a joke, right?
Speaker A:Like, and I didn't know, but again, in the perfect moment, Rosetta Stone type moment, right?
Speaker A:Goddamn full on rainbow headband puts it on my head.
Speaker A:I fucking lost it because I knew it was to keep from dripping, right?
Speaker A:Because that's where it always comes is right in the middle of my forehead.
Speaker A:It runs off top my damn head and just right down.
Speaker A:So full on your headband just fell off.
Speaker A:Laughing my ass off.
Speaker A:And it was one of the best nights ever.
Speaker A:You know what I mean?
Speaker A:Just because you have to have those moments anyway.
Speaker A:Probably way too much information, but that's why this movie just.
Speaker A:I love this movie and I tell people about it all the time.
Speaker A:If you want to laugh, watch Two Night Stand and just give it a chance because it'll take a second to warm up.
Speaker A:But when you get into the heat of the whole thing in the middle of the movie, it's great.
Speaker A:And then the one liners throughout it are like, oh, look, it's a million little matchmakers.
Speaker A:Thank you, snow.
Speaker A:Or you taste like prison.
Speaker A:It's just.
Speaker A:And I love that because that's the kind of goofy shit that like Casey and I say to each other.
Speaker A:And I'm sure that you and Oshi have these little like, shouldn't be funny.
Speaker A:And anybody listening would be like, what did you just say?
Speaker A:But it works for you, right?
Speaker A:And that's the part that to me is so cool about this is like, every relationship has those things.
Speaker A:But we shy away from the awkward and the weird so much.
Speaker A:And I just think that's unhealthy.
Speaker A:Like, we need to embrace that, have difficult conversations with each other that really aren't difficult once you start having them and you do it if you frame it in the right way.
Speaker A:Yeah, it's just great.
Speaker A:So I love this movie.
Speaker B:Well, it's also kind of coming to the realization that it's you and someone else versus the world.
Speaker A:Yeah, right.
Speaker B:Type of a thing.
Speaker B:Instead of going at each other based on what the world thinks.
Speaker B:Because like Oshi and I, we.
Speaker B:We work together and you could never tell because we are at each other's throats, like, what the fuck you say?
Speaker B:Like back and forth.
Speaker B:And so you get the.
Speaker B:You can tell people who necessarily haven't been in these long term relationships because they're like, your wife is mean to you.
Speaker B:And I'm like, yeah, she better watch or else I'm gonna leave her.
Speaker A:Yeah.
Speaker B:Or you know, type of thing.
Speaker B:And so.
Speaker B:Or you go back and forth.
Speaker B:Like people sometimes they don't know that we're actually together.
Speaker A:Yeah.
Speaker B:So they'll be like, oh, she's kind of mean to you and say, no, no worse than my wife.
Speaker B:Right.
Speaker B:Or yeah, you have this back and forth where people who are kind of clued into the joke understand.
Speaker A:Sure.
Speaker B:But they even still, they're like, you guys are mean to each other.
Speaker B:Well, not my fault.
Speaker B:Right.
Speaker B:Like he started it.
Speaker B:Yeah.
Speaker B:Type of a thing.
Speaker B:And so you have that where it's like being comfortable with someone else to be able to realize that it's you and me kind of versus the world.
Speaker B:And so she, she adapted to me because I'm that very sarcastic going out like, what the you talking about?
Speaker A:Yeah.
Speaker B:Like, you told me to do this.
Speaker B:Why the you tell me to do this now?
Speaker B:Or type of a thing?
Speaker B:And so it took her a little bit of time, but to her credit, she like adjusted and adapted.
Speaker A:Yeah.
Speaker B:To that.
Speaker B:So that now it's just off the cuff.
Speaker A:Yeah.
Speaker B:Right.
Speaker B:And so it's, it's going back and forth and people are like, are you guys like happily married?
Speaker B:No, no, we're not.
Speaker B:Like, yeah, yeah, yeah, but.
Speaker B:But it's like, yes, yes, we are.
Speaker B:The no's a sarcastic bit.
Speaker B:But.
Speaker B:Or you know, it's, it's, you know that every damn day, you know, do you love me?
Speaker B:No.
Speaker B:Yeah.
Speaker B:Or like.
Speaker B:Yeah.
Speaker B:Why do you always do that when I tell you to do this I hate your guts type of a thing.
Speaker B:So it's that back and forth of having this really unique way of interacting around the world.
Speaker B:And so this, this is cool because it's our.
Speaker B:It's thrown in there enough to where, you know, the, the one liners.
Speaker B:You taste like prison.
Speaker B:You know, your place or mine?
Speaker B:Well, I don't got a place.
Speaker A:Yeah.
Speaker B:Do I?
Speaker B:Well, you're a keeper.
Speaker B:Right.
Speaker B:Like, like these little moments that are happening.
Speaker B:I was just cackling because I was like, that's how I communicate.
Speaker B:And it takes a certain sort.
Speaker B:Right.
Speaker B:And you can't really communicate like that unless you have this really unique circumstance where you can speed through it because you have to get there over the course of time, otherwise you're going to have people are like, absolutely not block you.
Speaker B:Like, we're never seeing each other and all the disrespect or whatever.
Speaker B:And so it took a long time.
Speaker B:But it's funny Because Ocean, I communicate like they do in this movie on several occasions.
Speaker A:Yeah.
Speaker B:Where it's just the getting after each other, going after this.
Speaker B:Like, you know, just every opportunity we have to poke and we're taking it.
Speaker A:Oh, yeah.
Speaker A:No, Casey and I are the same way.
Speaker A:Like, we always joke.
Speaker A:Like, people think we hate each other.
Speaker B:Yeah.
Speaker A:No doubt about it.
Speaker A:Like, because we're nasty to each other.
Speaker A:Know what I mean?
Speaker A:But we.
Speaker A:We unders.
Speaker A:We've had these conversations of.
Speaker A:No, this is when I'm joking and this is when I'm not.
Speaker A:Right.
Speaker A:And so you can have those.
Speaker A:I. Yeah.
Speaker A:I love.
Speaker A:I'm with you.
Speaker A:I love that it portrays a very speedy version of reality.
Speaker A:Right.
Speaker A:And.
Speaker A:And they don't shy away from the awkward and uncomfortable because so much about relationships are awkward and uncomfortable.
Speaker A:And people don't want to admit that, like, we have this vision of the Hollywood romance, that it's all perfect and sunshine and roses and it's not.
Speaker A:Or that you have one big dramatic situation and then it's all over and done with.
Speaker A:And from there you guys are.
Speaker A:That's not.
Speaker A:This happens all the time.
Speaker A:Like, there's constantly weird happening in a relationship that you have to figure out together.
Speaker A:And if you're not willing to talk about it, it's just going to create problems.
Speaker A:And so it's.
Speaker A:Yeah, I loved.
Speaker A:I loved it.
Speaker A:The way it's portrayed in this film, it's.
Speaker B:It's gotten worse with the rise the influencer.
Speaker A:Oh, for sure.
Speaker B:Like, I don't know if you ever scrolling and you get the, you know, like, that's fake.
Speaker B:But then like, I'll pop.
Speaker B:Pop open the comments a little bit.
Speaker B:And you have so many people who are like, I wish my relationship was like yours, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah.
Speaker B:This is what I need, you know, and type of a thing.
Speaker B:It's like you're gonna be unhappy for a very, very long time.
Speaker B:Yeah.
Speaker B:Because it's.
Speaker B:It's curated.
Speaker B:It's curated same way that Hollywood curates to what they're trying to tell this story or whatever.
Speaker B:It's like you're.
Speaker B:You're gonna have a bad time if you're trying to replicate what you're seeing online.
Speaker A:Yep.
Speaker B:Because like you said, that's one in every 50 intimate encounters gonna be like that.
Speaker B:Maybe.
Speaker A:Yeah.
Speaker B:Right.
Speaker B:And so it's.
Speaker B:It's unrealistic to think that way or to take, you know, you take inspiration, but to try and mimic and copy what you're seeing as a curated thing.
Speaker A:Yeah.
Speaker B:Like, could you imagine just straight going 50 shades of gray.
Speaker B:That's if I don't have that.
Speaker B:That's my, that's my line in the sand type of a thing.
Speaker A:Yeah.
Speaker A:It's too much.
Speaker A:Too much.
Speaker A:So many times we watch movies and it's like people have this like, they're like looking at each other and then it's like the next thing you know, they're cut to their apartment and they're like throwing everywhere and all they're doing is having this like crazy, passionate sex.
Speaker A:I'm like, that's not.
Speaker B:You throw my rgt to.
Speaker A:Yeah, yeah.
Speaker A:No, just sit there.
Speaker A:That's not real.
Speaker A:And it's funny you say that and like, I don't.
Speaker A:From my front door to the bedroom, which is where they always end up.
Speaker A:Right?
Speaker A:Fine.
Speaker A:But from my front door to that bedroom, there's a flight of stairs, three dogs, a narrow hallway, a bunch of furniture.
Speaker A:We're gonna bump into something.
Speaker A:If you're doing that.
Speaker A:And if we break a lamp, something like that.
Speaker A:We're not.
Speaker A:It changes the, the amount of perfection that it takes to get from the front door to your bed and still be in that mood.
Speaker A:It's unrealistic.
Speaker A:I hate Hollywood for that reason.
Speaker A:So many relationships I think, are screwed because of in part and a small part, but in part due to these unrealistic expectations that are set because of literature, Hollywood, and the things that we see, because those are the things that we want.
Speaker A:So that's what we gravitate to.
Speaker A:And I'm not saying they're a bad thing.
Speaker A:They're just, you got to be realistic about the real expectations of that's most likely not going to happen that way.
Speaker A:And if it did, awesome.
Speaker A:You have a great story.
Speaker A:It'll probably never happen again.
Speaker B:Yeah.
Speaker A:Your odds just went even further bad for it happening.
Speaker A:So anyway, it's just so I love movies like this where like, you think, oh, we had this great one night stand.
Speaker A:And anybody that's had a one night stand, it's even more rare for it to be great.
Speaker A:It's.
Speaker A:It's functional.
Speaker A:Right.
Speaker A:Because one night stands are to have sex.
Speaker A:That's it.
Speaker A:So I'm not worried about did she get off?
Speaker A:Right.
Speaker A:I'm worried about.
Speaker A:Exactly.
Speaker A:That's a perfect scratching an itch.
Speaker B:That's all it is.
Speaker A:So for the fact that these two are stuck together and then they were able to say, no, it was, it was fine.
Speaker A:It scratched the itch.
Speaker A:And then it starts to mess with your ego a little bit.
Speaker A:Well, no, that, yeah.
Speaker A:I can't just have it scratch the itch.
Speaker B:Like, what do you mean?
Speaker B:It was just fine.
Speaker A:I needed to be the itch next time.
Speaker A:Right?
Speaker A:Like, that's the.
Speaker A:So anyway, I love.
Speaker A:I love this movie for so many reasons.
Speaker A:Should we rate it?
Speaker B:Let's do it.
Speaker A:Okay.
Speaker A:Because I could talk about it all night long.
Speaker A:So I.
Speaker A:We need to.
Speaker A:Okay, I'm gonna rate this.
Speaker A:I'm giving this A4.
Speaker A:I do think it's really phenomenal.
Speaker A:I think the writing is outrageously good.
Speaker A:And there's been a few times Casey and I've had conversations about it, like, do we think it could have been better maybe with a different actress or different actor or a different pair?
Speaker A:And I. I.
Speaker A:There are parts that I've made arguments where I'm like, sure it could, but I think this is great with these two, and I think it's because they're both very good.
Speaker A:She's amazing at awkward, and he's amazing at making things awkward.
Speaker A:And so it.
Speaker A:It really works with the.
Speaker A:The.
Speaker A:The whole vision of the story.
Speaker A:There's a lot of great onliners, There's a lot of entertainment value, and there's a lot of realism that's played in a subtle way that doesn't make you so uncomfortable that you want to stop watching the movie, but it does let you in on the fact that relationships aren't always.
Speaker A:They're very rarely actually sunshine and roses and.
Speaker A:And easy and comfortable.
Speaker A:They're obvious.
Speaker A:They're often very uncomfortable and can be very dark and very sinister feeling.
Speaker A:And then you have to work through those things, and then you go, okay, that made it better because we went through that, right?
Speaker A:And we actually fought to get through it.
Speaker A:So seeing some semblance of that on in a movie is great.
Speaker A:And it still has the happy ending and the wonderful blah, blah, blah, blah.
Speaker A:So it still fits the mold of Hollywood.
Speaker A:But there's enough things in there that you're like, that shit's too real.
Speaker A:Which is probably why this movie was never a big, massive success.
Speaker A:But I recommend it to people all the time, so I'm gonna give it a 4.
Speaker A:I do think it could have been better at the end.
Speaker A:Got a little rushed at the end, which I understand why.
Speaker A:It's still a very short movie, which I also love, but it did feel a little.
Speaker A:We jump from here to the.
Speaker A:All the way to the end, and you're like, whoa, that went fast.
Speaker A:Right?
Speaker A:So I think they could have done a little better to get the build up there of him trying to find her or whatever it might be.
Speaker A:Give Us a little like a day worth of figuring it out maybe, but maybe not.
Speaker A:I don't know.
Speaker A:That's just where my feel like it could have done a little bit better.
Speaker A:But overall, great gem of a movie for me.
Speaker A:One that I recommend highly all the time.
Speaker A:If you haven't watched it, go watch this movie.
Speaker A:You'll laugh at the very least.
Speaker A:So, Alec, what about you, buddy?
Speaker B:I'm also gonna give it a four.
Speaker B:I think for me, a lot of similar things to what you said, but the.
Speaker B:Where it really kind of fell flat.
Speaker B:And I don't know if this was intended or just what kind of happened, but where you have the party sequence and she's like talking to other people and she's just like depicted as drunk or out of it.
Speaker B:So she's like, just lost the edge.
Speaker A:Yeah.
Speaker B:And like the idea I think is supposed to be like, oh, such a letdown.
Speaker B:This is what life is actually like.
Speaker B:And going back to.
Speaker B:I think you could have done a lot better because that whole like party sequence, I was sitting there going like, oh, this movie was so great, like for the first.
Speaker B:For the first at this point, like hour and 15 minutes.
Speaker B:And now it's like, really, do you have to go there?
Speaker B:Because there's just so much like.
Speaker B:I would have liked to see more of the.
Speaker B:Her switching to like the ambition stuff.
Speaker B:Right.
Speaker B:Because she talked about losing her ambition.
Speaker B:So you have something like.
Speaker B:I would even fast forward longer than a day, maybe a week or two or even a month.
Speaker B:She's at a job interview or something or another.
Speaker B:And they bump into each other type of a thing.
Speaker B:Yeah.
Speaker B:And so then you have this, oh, hey.
Speaker B:Type of moment where you can still do.
Speaker B:You could cut out the parts.
Speaker B:That just felt odd because that's where it really went a little south for me.
Speaker B:But yeah, I. I cackled and I was reliving some past experiences for my life.
Speaker B:Watch this going, oh, you know who, who wrote this?
Speaker B:Yeah.
Speaker A:Right.
Speaker B:I go to school with you.
Speaker B:And so there was.
Speaker B:There was a lot of that, but it was just really enjoyable.
Speaker B:So, yeah, four for me.
Speaker B:I. I will watch this again.
Speaker B:I'll be watching it with Oshi at some point.
Speaker B:Because I was like, she's gonna like this movie.
Speaker A:Yeah, it's good.
Speaker A:We didn't even talk about one of my other favorite sequences that I 100.
Speaker A:I'm like, that's me.
Speaker A:When he talks about ambition.
Speaker A:And he's like, oh, I kind of blacked out there for a minute because you get a desk and there's another desk.
Speaker A:And I'm like, dude, that is like mouse.
Speaker B:No ping pong table.
Speaker A:Amazing.
Speaker A:That moment is one of the.
Speaker A:There's so many little moments like that where they go off on one thing or another that I'm like, that's so relatable.
Speaker A:But anyway, I'm with you.
Speaker A:I like that.
Speaker A:It's a good explanation.
Speaker A:The party sequence.
Speaker A:How funny would have been if she's in the middle of a job interview and gets arrested.
Speaker A:Yeah, that would have been even funnier.
Speaker A:Anyway, yeah, there it is.
Speaker A:Good ratings.
Speaker A:I like it.
Speaker A:Go check it out.
Speaker A:It's a funny movie.
