Black Widow (2021)

Following the events of Civil War, Natasha Romanoff goes off the grid traveling to a remote destination in Norway. While laying low, she receives a package from her sister which holds the possibility of freeing others from the same dark path shared by all widows. To do so, she will have to reassemble her “family” and face her difficult past that shaped her into the Black Widow of today.

Our guest host Dave Kimball drops some knowledge on how this movie was too little too late for really giving Black Widow, Scarlett Johansson and the fans what they deserved. Mattson struggles with his suspension of disbelief. JJ catches all of the twists before they happen. Ian is surprised by how much he liked this movie.

I definitely think Dave should replace Javier! Came in with the lowest score on a marvel movie and absolutely nailed the outro. It’s like they are the same person. I was a bit disappointed in this movie for kind of the same reasons as all of you, the side characters really stole the show. While watching it I was disappointed because this was supposed to be her movie right and she just ended up a side character which she’s been for a decade or so at this point. Black Widow has never really been front and center, and I’m sure a large part of that has to do with the character being a deadly assassin and operating from the shadows but in her movie she gets overshadowed by the Red Guardian or Russia’s “Captain America” and that was just a dirty move in my opinion. It was enjoyable but it definitely felt that the main character was a side character in their own movie which is kinda lame. As always love the episode!! Can’t wait for Space Jam!!
