Jumanji: The Next Level (2019)

When Spencer doesn’t show to the friends’ “Jumanji survivors” gathering at Christmas time the rest of the group Bethany, Fridge, and Martha become worried. Unable to locate Spencer but finding his phone and the broken Jumanji video game, they conclude Spencer has gone back in and reluctantly decide to go to his aid. Little does the group realize that they will be joined by Spencer’s grandfather Eddie and Eddie’s long time friend Milo. Jumanji madness ensues as the group tries to come together and clear the game alive.

Joe Gold joins us a guest host and shares his love for this movie and desire to dive into video game. Ian brings in the one-liners. JJ curses in horse language. Mattson questions the risk of dying in a video game.

    Once again great episode!! Watching it again I kind of feel bad for the writers. I can’t imagine sitting down and writing a script for a movie involving Kevin Hart, Dwayne Johnson, the Danny’s and Jack Black all of whom are very good at improvisation and and will probably make my script a lot better with improvisation without even trying. Also Karen Gillan doesn’t get enough credit but she definitely held her own in this one. The part of the movie where fridge and Martha are switching back and forth between Jack Black and Karen Gillan was one of my favorite parts of the whole movie

        Oh man! THE Mattson, best intro in a podcast ever by the way. I am hoping the Jumanji movies become the next Fast & Furious franchise. I would definitely go see Jumanji 24: “Why do people still play this game?”
